Aging Related Research:
We study cochlear synaptopathy -- damage to cochlear synapses caused by noise and aging. This type of trauma is a major cause of age-related hearing loss. In particular, loss of ability, during aging, to follow conversation in a noisy environments believed to be largely due to synaptopathy.
