Ryan Carnahan, PharmD, MS, BCPP, is the Associate Director of Education and Outreach. He is an Associate Professor of Epidemiology in the College of Public Health. His work aims to improve quality of care, particularly medication use, for people with dementia and delirium through education and implementation of best practices. He also studies patterns of use and adverse effects of medications in the elderly, and is involved in drug safety surveillance for the FDA. He is particularly interested in adverse events related to medication-associated cognitive impairment. His work involves analysis of large administrative healthcare databases as well as data from electronic medical records.
