Our goal is to continue to expand the educational opportunities for seniors, caregivers, and practitioners through the Geriatric Education Center's awarded Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program funded through the Health Resources and Services Administration of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

The Geriatric Health Assessment Clinic offers a multi-disciplinary team approach to the comprehensive evaluation and treatment of older adults. Team members include physicians, nurses, social workers and pharmacists who specialize in geriatric care and focus on health promotion and the prevention and treatment of disease and disability in later life.

The vision of the University of Iowa's Aging Mind and Brain Initiative is to create a world-class collaborative research and implementation entity aimed at research, education, and outreach to enhance the lives and societal vitality of our aging population, focusing on the cognitive aspect of aging.
